The Election Commission has declared the entire polling process in West Bengal’s Falta constituency as “vitiated” due to serious electoral violations. The decision mandates a complete repoll across all voting locations in the constituency. The directive reflects the commission’s commitment to maintaining the integrity of democratic elections and ensuring fair representation.
All 285 polling stations, including auxiliary booths, will conduct fresh voting to address the irregularities that compromised the electoral process. The repoll represents a significant intervention by the election authority to safeguard electoral standards. This decision underscores the importance of transparent and lawful conduct during elections.
The fresh polling exercise will provide voters with another opportunity to cast their votes in a properly conducted electoral environment. The Election Commission’s action demonstrates its responsibility to investigate and address serious electoral offences.
