The Diriyah Company, backed by Saudi Arabia’s government, has unveiled plans for a new flagship museum dedicated to contemporary art. The Saudi Arabia Museum of Contemporary Art (SAMoCA) will be constructed as part of the kingdom’s broader cultural development initiatives in the historic Diriyah region.
A joint venture between Albawani Company and Hassan Allam Construction has secured the project contract, valued at USD 490 million. This substantial investment reflects the government’s commitment to establishing world-class cultural institutions within the country.
The museum will serve as a major venue for showcasing contemporary artworks and will contribute to Diriyah’s transformation into a cultural and heritage destination. The project aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 goals of diversifying the economy and promoting cultural tourism.
