The Consumer Protection Authority in Oman has issued a formal warning regarding a children’s toy candle produced by the Addo brand. The toy, identified as the Addo Creative Candles model B-19180-318, has been found to contain potentially harmful substances that pose health risks to children.
Testing revealed the presence of possible trace amounts of asbestos within the product. Asbestos is a hazardous material known to cause serious health complications when inhaled or ingested, particularly in young children whose bodies are still developing.
The Authority has urged all consumers to cease using the affected toy immediately. Parents and guardians are advised to prevent children from handling the product and to remove it from their homes.
Consumers who have purchased this specific model are encouraged to contact the Authority for further guidance and information regarding the proper disposal of the toy.
