The Election Commission has directed re-polling at 15 voting booths during West Bengal’s legislative assembly elections. The decision follows reports submitted by returning officers and election observers who identified irregularities at specific polling stations.
Magrahat Paschim constituency accounted for 11 of the affected booths, while Diamond Harbour constituency reported issues at four booths. These booths will conduct fresh polling to ensure the integrity of the electoral process and maintain voter confidence.
The original polling day took place on Saturday, May 2, with voting stations remaining open from 7 AM to 6 PM. The Election Commission’s intervention reflects its commitment to conducting fair and transparent elections across the state.
