Election Commission Orders Repolling at 15 Polling Stations in West Bengal Assembly Elections

The Election Commission of India has directed a repolling exercise across two West Bengal assembly constituencies following reports of irregularities during voting. The decision affects 15 polling stations that will conduct fresh voting from 7 am to 6 pm on the designated date.

The repolling has been distributed between Magrahat Paschim and Diamond Harbour constituencies. Magrahat Paschim will see repolling in 11 booths, while Diamond Harbour will conduct repolling in 4 booths. The ECI made this decision after receiving complaints regarding procedural violations and irregularities at these specific polling locations.

This measure ensures the integrity of the electoral process and gives voters another opportunity to cast their votes fairly. The Election Commission takes such complaints seriously and implements repolling when evidence suggests that the original voting process was compromised in any manner.
