Exit polls indicate a significant shift in Kerala’s political landscape, with the Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) expected to make substantial gains in the state assembly elections. The Manorama News-C Voter survey projects the UDF will secure between 82 and 94 seats, reflecting widespread governance fatigue and anti-incumbency against the ruling Left Democratic Front (LDF).
Though the projected seat count falls short of the opposition’s target of 100 seats, it represents a dramatic improvement from the UDF’s 2021 performance, when the coalition won only 41 seats. The India Today-Axis My India exit poll similarly forecasts a major victory for the Congress-led alliance.
The results suggest voters are seeking a change in state administration, with dissatisfaction over current governance driving support toward the opposition. Political analysts attribute the shift to accumulating public discontent with LDF policies and administration during its tenure.
