Bahrain’s King Extends Parliamentary and Shura Council Terms

His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa has issued a royal decree to extend the terms of both the Shura Council and Parliament. The extension applies to the sixth legislative term of both chambers, adding an additional year through a fifth session.

The royal order allows the legislative bodies to continue their work and responsibilities for the extended period. This decision enables both councils to complete pending legislative matters and ongoing parliamentary business without interruption.

The extension reflects the monarchy’s approach to managing the legislative calendar and ensuring continuity in Bahrain’s governmental operations. Both chambers will maintain their regular functions throughout the extended term under the provisions outlined in the royal order.
