Kejriwal Boycotts Court Proceedings in Excise Policy Case, Cites Loss of Faith in Justice

Former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has announced a boycott of court proceedings related to the excise policy case. Kejriwal stated that he will not appear in person or through legal counsel, citing his loss of confidence in Justice Swarnakanta Sharma’s impartiality.

In a statement, Kejriwal invoked Mahatma Gandhi’s philosophy of Satyagraha, a nonviolent resistance movement, to justify his decision. He expressed that his expectation of receiving justice from the presiding judge has ended, prompting him to take this course of action.

The boycott marks an escalation in Kejriwal’s response to the ongoing legal proceedings. The excise policy case has been a significant matter under judicial scrutiny, with multiple hearings scheduled in the coming weeks.
