Kuwait’s Interior Ministry Lifts Restrictions on Maritime Activities

Kuwait’s Interior Ministry has announced the resumption of sailing operations for fishing boats and recreational vessels. The vessels are now permitted to operate during daylight hours, specifically between 6:00 am and 6:00 pm. This decision follows a suspension that was implemented due to escalating regional tensions stemming from the US-Iran conflict.

The restriction had previously prevented commercial and leisure maritime activities in Kuwaiti waters. The ministry’s decision to allow limited daytime operations represents a gradual easing of security measures. Vessel operators must continue to adhere to the specified time parameters and any additional maritime regulations.

The move reflects authorities’ assessment of current security conditions in the region. Fishing communities and recreational boating enthusiasts welcome the partial restoration of maritime access. The ministry has not indicated plans to extend operating hours or remove restrictions entirely at this time.
